I thought in college only the open source language will be used for the common education purpose. However, I noted that the trend of it is rpaidly changing. It is no doubt that Microsoft has a very good marketing strategy. From the CUNY campus big domain networks to the software courses such as C#, vB.net and ASP.net, .Net is bringing up to the academic now in many aspects. So if you still think Java is the only one that will be used for all students graduated from college, this concept might be totally wrong today......

Supprise news I reccieved yesterday night: City University is now offering many Free courses for student to learn ASP.net web development this summer. And all the magazines I see in the library technology shelter is moslty in .Net category (Because they send it to acadmic organization for free. They know the investment trick...)

Personally, I admit J2EE could be very good for cost saving in the begaining but big project because of its slower and complicated technologies.
C#/ASP.net should be the best choice for rapid development and scale-less projects because of its "programmer-friendly" technologies.

Will Microsoft conquer Java totally from education foundation soon? I think it will be just the time matter. You have already seen that free .Net Express version (Visual Studio Express) had been installed in many computer lab, on the presentation screen in many courses and in many students' personal computers at home nowadays.

People, I am learning both JAVA and .Net, however, I am telling you I will focus on .Net eventually.
